Pizza buns with mozarella and ham

The weather forecast does not look promising I have to tell you. It seems like not only the world got crazy but also nature. It's been raining since three days now and I am looking for things to do. Yes, one of my favourite activities is reading a book under the blanket but I have made a list of the things I have to do this week so I better stick to it as we already have Wednesday. I would like to disappoint myself. Apartment returns to normal leaving condition after rearranging furniture. (Yes, yes lockdown ideas.) So I had a wee moment to seat and write a post for not very usuall Pizza buns with mozarella and ham with super balanced tomato sauce on side. You all gonna love it.

Pizza buns with mozarella and ham

  • 7g instant yeast
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 250 g all perps flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200 g mozarella cheese
  • 10 slices ham
  • oregano
  • basil

  1. In a mug mix yeast, sugar and water. Set aside for 15 min. It will start to bloom and become foamy.
  2. In a larg bowl mix together flour and salt. Add a starter you have prepared. Mix with wooden spoon until combine. Add olive oil and mix again.
  3. Dust a working surface with flour and transport a dough to this surface. Kneed for about 15 min - until elastic. Form a ball and put in the clean bowl. Cover with kitchen towel and keep on the cupboard to rise.
  4. Divide the dough into 10 equal pieces. Firm 10 balls and by using rolling pin roll out the dough into 10 cm diameter circles.
  5. Divide mozarella into 10 slices/cubes.
  6. Take one dough circle and put slice of ham, one mozarella cube/slice and sprinkle with basil and oregano. Pinch all sides together and roll until you'll get round bun. Repeat with all pieces.
  7. Place your rolls on the baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake in 250℃ for 15 min, until sightly scorched.
Side sauce

  • 4 large tomatos
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp basil
  • pinch of salt
  1. Dice an onion and fry on the pan with olive oil and salt until golden.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes without hard part. Add basil and simmer under a cover for 15 min.
  3. Turn ogg the hob and remove lid. Blend until smooth.
  4. Serve with ready buns.

Share with me your craziest ideas which came to your head during the lockdown. Or recipes. Or wether forecast. Or some love.

Wherever you are I wish you best.
